About Dr. Thanh Mai, DMD
As he began his journey to becoming a premier dentist at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Dr. Mai committed himself to the highest level of excellence possible. For 19 years, Dr. Mai’s base of experience has grown with the industry’s state-of-the-art treatment strategies and allows him to offer you customized and comfortable care in prevention, restoration and cosmetic dentistry, including, as needed, the use of various forms of conscious sedation. As a result, Dr. Mai’s personal care has earned him some of the very best dental reviews in the area.
In his personal time, Dr. Mai loves spending time with his son, exploring the wonders of the USA and the world at large, and dedicating time to his own personal fitness.
About Dr. Jason Spears, DDS
A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, MD, Dr. Spears has built a foundation of extensive knowledge and experience in Dentistry. He also completed a postdoctoral residency for an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) with Lutheran Medical Center based in Brooklyn, NY. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT.
Dr. Spears appreciates the opportunity he’s had to give back to the world by participating in community health events around Florida and on mission trips to several countries.
Dr. Spears was born in California and raised in Maryland from the age of four. Following his education, he moved to Florida and has been practicing in the Sunshine State ever since. He is one of five children and when he is not practicing dentistry, he is traveling the world, hiking, playing sports, scuba diving, or spending time with his family and dog.
Carey
Regional Manager
Since joining our practice in 2014, Carey has been an important part of our team—driven by her passion for dentistry and helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their care.
Starting out as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, she’s grown into her role as Regional Manager, working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly and support our amazing office teams.
When she’s not working, Carey enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband, Jordan, and their pets. You’ll often find them out hiking, on the water, or relaxing with a good movie night at home.
Kristy
Office Manager
With over 15 years of experience in dentistry, Kristy brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to our team. She is a devoted wife, mother of three, and proud grandmother. In her free time, Kristy and her husband enjoy traveling and exploring new places. Her extensive expertise, combined with her warm and family-oriented personality, makes her a valuable member of our practice.
Becky
Billing/Insurance Coordinator
Meet Becky, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the dental field. Originally from Wisconsin, she relocated to Florida while maintaining strong ties with her family back in the Midwest.
Beyond her expertise in dentistry, Becky’s heart resonates with her love for dogs, football, and the warmth of family life. Her wealth of experience in insurance and genuine passion for both her work and personal interests make Becky an invaluable member of our team.
Natasha
Insurance Coordinator
Natasha is the dedicated Insurance Coordinator in Hudson, balancing her professional life with being a loving mom to three children—two girls and a boy. She also shares her home with two French Bulldogs, who complete her lively family. On her days off, Natasha enjoys staying active, whether it’s hitting the gym or playing basketball. Born in Hawaii but raised in Florida, Natasha values time spent with her family and friends, always making the most of life’s special moments. Her warm personality and strong work ethic make her an integral part of her community.
Jason
Registered Dental Hygienist
Jason was born in North Dakota and relocated to Florida at an early age. He earned his degree as a Registered Dental Hygienist from Pasco-Hernando State College, followed by a certification in anesthesia. With five years of experience as a dental hygienist, Jason has honed his expertise in the field. Outside of his professional life, he is passionate about landscaping, cars, and collecting books. Additionally, Jason enjoys practicing and teaching mixed martial arts.
Bacil
Registered Dental Hygienist
Having earned an extensive university education in health sciences internationally, and through military training abroad and in the U.S., Bacil found his calling from a young age and followed his dream of healing patients through dental care. Even while pursuing continuing education, he began his dental health career first as a dental assistant and then as a registered dental hygienist, always focusing on providing the best care possible. He deeply enjoys seeing his patients’ smiles and loves to spend time helping them learn better habits toward dental health.
Bacil has an M.S. in Health Sciences, is a licensed nurse practitioner and registered dental hygienist, and has also served proudly as an officer in the U.S. Navy. With over twenty years’ experience in the industry, he takes pride in his ability to continually grow his dental health skills while practicing, but still finds time each year to visit his family in Jordan – and even volunteer in various local clinics on each trip.
Akiko
Registered Dental Hygienist
Akiko was born and raised in Belize, a Central American country, to Japanese parents. She earned an Associate’s in Biology from St. John’s College in Belize. After college, she worked as a dental assistant before moving to Miami, Florida, in 1995. In Miami, she pursued further education, earning a Dental Hygiene Degree with honors from Miami Dade College in 1998. Akiko moved to Atlanta in 1999, continuing her dental hygiene practice until returning to Florida in 2021. In 2023, she expanded her qualifications by obtaining a license to administer local anesthesia for dental hygiene procedures. Akiko enjoys cooking, baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Marcela
Dental Hygienist
Marcela has over 25 years of experience in the dental field. She graduated with her associate’s degree in dental Hygiene from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey SHRP Program. Marcela is dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal oral health through her care.
Tara
Dental Assistant
Tara is a highly experienced dental assistant with 20 years in the dental field. She is known for her positive energy and her contagious laugh, which helps create a welcoming atmosphere for our patients. Tara is dedicated to making each patient feel as comfortable as possible. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her five kids, going to the beach, and engaging in various outdoor activities.

Dental Assistant
Monica has over of 20 years dental assistant experience and loves to see the smiles on patients’ faces as they leave the office. Her personal interests include health and exercise, dancing, going to the beach and spending time with her children and her granddaughter.
