Our very large, and beautiful state of the art private practice dental office in Historic Kenwood, St. Pete, FL is looking for a full (preferred) OR part-time patient-focused, team player, upbeat and energetic dental assistant to join our team! Candidates to be considered must have excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a friendly/enthusiastic approach to providing skilled dental care. Our large private practice, multi office is looking for a treatment plan coordinator that can either strictly work at one location or be willing to travel to all 3 locations. PAY WILL BE BASED UPON SKILL SET, EXPERIENCE AND WILL BE VERY COMPETITIVE.
The Treatment Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to facilitate the patient’s office experience in being seamless and ensure the patient leaves well informed and prepared for their next appointment. This includes ensuring the patient understands their treatment plan, the benefits of treatment, insurance benefits, assisting with financial arrangements, collecting payment and coordination of appointments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Hygiene coordinators manage scheduling of patients, including arranging and confirming appointments. They ensure that patients attend their appointments on schedule. In case of cancellations, they must follow up to motivate patients to maintain or reschedule their appointments.
- Hygiene Coordinator is responsible for maintaining over due recare appointments as well as unscheduled Hygiene treatment.
- Prepare and present treatment plan and financial estimates to patients for all prescribed treatment.
- Schedule patient treatment appointments; reschedule patients that miss their appointment and call patients that have not completed treatment.
- Manage the Doctor and hygiene schedules to achieve utilization goals through efficient use of appointment time.
- Work with the doctor and do all new patient exams with him to effectively know the treatment the doctor is prescribing to be done so you can accurately describe it to the patient.
- Assist patient with financial arrangements.
- Complete pre-authorizations when needed.
- Send and process medical clearances when needed.
- Handle all treatment paperwork including consent forms, policy forms and exit paperwork.
- Effectively communicate and develop a strong working relationship with the Doctor and promote teamwork through cooperative and professional behaviors.
- Check patients out.
- Answer and return incoming calls from patients.
- Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient records.
- Follow and demonstrate commitment to the office policies, professional expectations, and Service Excellence Standards.

- Education High School Diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Focus on customer service.
- Ability to communicate with others in a professional manner.

- Clinical experience in a dental practice with knowledge of dental insurance and dental procedures is preferred; training or education in these areas will be considered.
- Preferred 5 years of dental experience. Dental coding, dexis and dentrix knowledge is PLUS.
- Motivating team player and leader.
- Proficient in basic computer applications with the ability to learn new software. Demonstrate ability to perform basic arithmetic to understand general ledger and insurance benefits.
- Bilingual is a plus but not required.
